hampagne Gallery\n518 Central Avenue SW\n7:30 PM\n\nAbi Tapia happily call
 s Austin home\, but to say she's simply a Texas songwriter wouldn't give t
he whole story. The daughter of musicians\, Abi was born in Alabama and li
ved until she was fifteen in various towns around the Southeast and Texas.
She has since lived in the Midwest and in New England\, where she began h
er professional music career. Characteristics of all of these regions insp
ire Abi's songwriting: The inviting warmth of the South\, the expansivenes
s of the Midwestern Plains\, and the pluck and determination of a New Engl
and Yankee are all mixed up with a nomadic restlessness. Tapia's album One
Foot Out The Door is a driving collection of songs about loving and leavi
ng that is garnering rave reviews and comparisons to Austin's best songwri
ters.\n\nBeth Wood grew up in Lubbock\, TX\, where she was classically tra
ined in piano\, violin\, harp and voice. While teaching herself guitar\, s
he joined a band and became part of the Austin music scene. After a few ye
ars of playing around Austin in her band\, and then in a duo\, Beth kissed
her day-job goodbye and moved to the beautiful mountains of Western North
Carolina to pursue music full-time. The natural beauty of her surrounding
s provided inspiration while the supportive community helped Beth to becom
e a standout in the Asheville songwriters' community. Now an established s
 inger/songwriter\, she resides in Arlington\, Texas\, while continuously t
ouring to support her six independent releases.

DESCRIPTION:Seattle's Anna Coogan discovered the folk traditions of the Ame
rican West after ending a ten-year relationship with opera in 2002. A few
months after leaving the Mozarteum in Salzburg\, Austria\, she took to wri
ting songs to fill the resultant musical void. Described in the Portland\,
Oregon Willamette Weekly as "sweet and clear voiced with a stunning range
\," Anna fronts North19 with an honesty and courage that belies her petite
stature.\n\nWhile cutting her teeth in Seattle's open mic scene\, Anna me
t banjo and guitar journeyman Travis Beard. He drew upon his twenty years
of varied experience on the Pacific Northwest music circuit to enhance Ann
a's tunes with intriguing and original instrumentation\, drawing from trad
itional bluegrass\, blues\, and rock.\n\nA freak accident at the DMV intro
duced Anna to bassist Kevin Burkett\, who had recently arrived in Seattle
via St. Louis\, MO. His fifteen years of duty in bands ranging from 60's c
over music to modern-Americana acoustic-rock helped the newly monikered "N
orth19" increase the focus of their music and begin to truly drive the pro
ject forward.\n\nAudiences have loved the blend of haunting ballads\, orig
inal bluegrass\, political folk tunes\, and countrified pop songs. Their d
edication to their craft\, coupled with live performances at every opportu
nity\, is rapidly establishing North19 as a presence in the NorthWest alt-
country scene.\n\nAdrienne Braswell delivers crystal-clear vocals with spe
llbounding purity and extraordinary range. Her acoustic style which is ecl
ectic at the core draws from a full spectrum of musical genres including f
 olk\, jazz\, blues\, pop\, country\, celtic\, and Spanish. Adrienne's care
er spans appearing at the Copacabana as a blues/jazz singer in New York to
traveling the country in a vaudeville show and even opening for the Smoth
ers Brothers. Now Adrienne follows her true passion—strumming her guitar a
nd serenading audiences with her original songs. Her song "Scrawny Little
White Girl" from her new CD Blue Door won Best Blues Song for New Mexico i
n the prestigious New Mexico Music Industry Awards for 2004.\n\nAt the hou
se concert\, Adrienne will be accompanied by Mark Dudrow on cello\, mandol
in\, and guitar.\n\n$12 suggested donation. Reservations required.\nFor re

His famous "fish taco song" ("We're Gonna Laugh") still shows up on KBAC.
Since then\, he released "King of Echo Park"\, an album produced by LA fo
lk music veteran Wendy Waldman\, who also co-wrote several tracks. (You ca
n also look for Wendy all over Anna Wolfe's latest CD.) The album has a br
oader scope then the older ones\, with rich arrangements and hints of jazz
\, gospel and New Orleans. His latest CD "If I Never Sleep Again" turns th
e idea of a children's album on its head. This is an album about being new
and expectant parents. Hilarious and touching songs about sleepless night
s\, parental anxieties and expectations and childhood wonder. Brian's a pa
st Kerrville New Folk AND Telluride Troubadour winner\, which are some pre
tty serious songwriter credentials. He won a room full of new fans last ti
